RN to BSN Program

This is an online program designed for Registered Nurses who desire to obtain a BS degree in nursing. The RN to BSN program requires 120 credits to graduate from the School of Nursing. As part of the application process, each student’s official transcripts will be evaluated by an academic advisor and applicable transfer credits awarded. Evaluation of both educational work and earned credits provides students with a seamless transition into the RN to BSN online program.

SKU will accept the 60 credit hours completed for the RN designation and up to 30 credit hours for work experience, completed continuing education, or professional development. At SKU, the RN to BSN program can be completed in as little as 30 credits.

RN to BSN Courses

The 30-credit hour program offered expands knowledge in areas of research, theory, leadership, community, concepts, nursing informatics, and current trends in healthcare. Graduates are prepared to function in new roles as members of healthcare teams in a variety of settings.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

The School of Health Sciences at the Southwest Kingston University offers Bachelors Degree program in Nursing (BSN). This degree program is aimed at helping nurses who have already earned some college education and are currently practicing as registered nurses in United States.

Admission to the RN to BSN option requires that the following SKU and School of Health Sciences requirements are satisfied.

  • Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an approved nursing program.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in any US City.
  • Minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Grade of C or higher in all mathematics and science courses.
  • Satisfactory completion of prerequisite general education and cognate courses.
