Refund Policy

Southwest Kingston University (SKU) has established this cancellation and refund policy should a student’s enrollment with SKU be terminated or cancelled for any reason. A student may cancel his/her course enrollment at any time by adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Students are encouraged to provide the University a notice of cancellation in writing; however, the notice of cancellation may be forwarded to the University in any manner.
  • All monies will be refunded if the student cancels within five (5) calendar days of signing the enrollment agreement.
  • SKU will retain the application fee if the student cancels more than five (5) calendar days after signing the enrollment agreement but prior to the first day of courses.
  • Refunds are calculated on a course by course basis for students enrolled in more than one course per semester.
  • If a student cancels/drops a course on or after the first day of the semester, the student will be refunded according to the following schedule:
Amount of Coursework Completed by Student Fees Refunded
Within first week of an 8 week online course 100% of Tuition
After one week of an 8 week online course 75% of Tuition
After two weeks of an 8 week online course 55% of Tuition
After three weeks of an 8 week online course 40% of Tuition
After four weeks of an 8 week online course 20% of Tuition
After five weeks of an 8 week online course 10% of Tuition
After six weeks of an 8 week online course 0% of Tuition
  • Termination Date: The termination date for refund computation purposes is the date on which the request to cancel/drop is received by the University.
  • Refunds will be made within 30 calendar days of the request to cancel/drop.
  • A student may be dismissed by the University for unsatisfactory academic progress, financial delinquency, or failure to comply with University rules or policies.
  • Textbooks, kits, & tools are the property of the student and cannot be returned as part of the refund.
  • If the school is permanently closed and no longer offers instruction, the school shall; at its option, provide a full refund of all monies paid or provide for completion of the course.
